About Me

In writing the "About Me" portion of this blog I thought about the purpose of the blog - namely, preventing the growth of Socialism & stopping the Death Of Democracy in the American Republic & returning her to the "liberty to abundance" stage of our history. One word descriptions of people's philosophies or purposes are quite often inadequate. I feel that I am "liberal" meaning that I am broad minded, independent, generous, hospitable, & magnanimous. Under these terms "liberal" is a perfectly good word that has been corrupted over the years to mean the person is a left-winger or as Mark Levin more accurately wrote in his book "Liberty & Tyranny" a "statist" - someone looking for government or state control of society. I am certainly not that & have dedicated the blog to fighting this. I believe that I find what I am when I consider whether or not I am a "conservative" & specifically when I ask what is it that I am trying to conserve? It is the libertarian principles that America was founded upon & originally followed. That is the Return To Excellence that this blog is named for & is all about.

BO Sums Up "Or Will It?"

Last week's message re the House vote on "Cap & Trade" entitled "Or Will It?" brought many follow-up action messages from members of our group such as:

1.  I called both his offices and sent e-mails.  Also sent everyone I know in Lance's district your list so they would know how HE voted!!

2.  Hope you don't mind, I posted your comments on my Facebook page. They are too good not to share.

3.  I saw to my dismay that my Congressman, Leonard Lance, voted with the Democrats in the House for this bill.  Do you have any idea why he would do that?  Is there anything I can or should be doing about that?

These are excellent comments & only with this type of fight will we hang on to what we've got.  They follow the words of President Eisenhower - "Politics ought to be the part-time profession of every citizen who would protect the rights and privileges of free people and who would preserve what is good and fruitful in our national heritage."

BO sums up the "Or Will It?" message with this one minute video - Better keep fighting.
