About Me

In writing the "About Me" portion of this blog I thought about the purpose of the blog - namely, preventing the growth of Socialism & stopping the Death Of Democracy in the American Republic & returning her to the "liberty to abundance" stage of our history. One word descriptions of people's philosophies or purposes are quite often inadequate. I feel that I am "liberal" meaning that I am broad minded, independent, generous, hospitable, & magnanimous. Under these terms "liberal" is a perfectly good word that has been corrupted over the years to mean the person is a left-winger or as Mark Levin more accurately wrote in his book "Liberty & Tyranny" a "statist" - someone looking for government or state control of society. I am certainly not that & have dedicated the blog to fighting this. I believe that I find what I am when I consider whether or not I am a "conservative" & specifically when I ask what is it that I am trying to conserve? It is the libertarian principles that America was founded upon & originally followed. That is the Return To Excellence that this blog is named for & is all about.

Immigration Reform Checkmate

Every time the United States Senate attempts to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill that gives your Social Security, Medicare, & life savings away to the poorest, least educated, lowest skilled people they can find you know that politicians are once again on the prowl for votes.  Establishment Republicans participated this time because they panicked when Mitt Romney only received 27% of the Hispanic vote last November.  Democrats are only too glad to encourage this Republican fool's errand because they know they will receive all of the electoral rewards.

The problems with the senate's immigration reform bill that now moves to the House start when you realize that it is 1,200 pages long & was written principally by New York's Senator Chuck Schumer working in close direct coordination with BO's staff including former La Raza senior vice president Cecilia Munoz.  The provisions of the bill will be enforced by BO & Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.  What more does any one need to know about what is wrong with the bill?

Hold on to your wallet when you hear politicians are concerned & take it upon themselves to get eleven million illegal immigrants out of the shadows & into the sunlight & a life of dignity that leads to U.S. citizenship.

Never mind that the illegals themselves are not the least bit interested in becoming citizens which requires paying citizenship administration fees & back taxes, learning English, & taking a test where they can explain the importance of George Washington to our nation's founding.  After the 1986 amnesty only 40% of the 2.7 million immigrants who received permanent legal status had become naturalized citizens by 2009.  Source – DHS study in 2010.  Illegals may be interested in obtaining legal status if it doesn't require any of the foregoing – & there won't be any such requirements by the time the execution of the bill is watered down & plays out.

The first call from Republicans on the immigration issue is always that the border must be secured before the eleven million (or more) illegal immigrants in the country can get on a pathway to citizenship?  I always ask why do we have to combine the two points?  If the border is not secure why are we not working double time to secure it?

The biggest problem with the position "we must secure our borders first" is the separate issue that this is admitting that our borders are not secure.  The point being, if this was a real issue, that if our elected representatives were interested in securing our borders & protecting our citizens they would do so regardless of the legal status of any eleven million people.

So the American people continue to be bystanders with everything @ stake while this plays out.

Between June 11 – 16 Quinnipiac illustrated the Hispanic problem Republicans have by running some trial heats of the 2016 presidential race using 1,176 registered voters in Florida featuring two of Florida's favorite sons.  Hillary beat Rubio 53% to 41% & Jeb 50% to 43%.

Now before anyone tells me the 2016 election is far off & that they discount the above trial heats please consider the results of last Tuesday's special election in Massachusetts to fill the seat vacated by John Kerry where Ed Markey won by eight points overall over Republican Gabriel Gomez.

The real lesson to be learned by those Republicans who are pandering for Hispanic votes is that Markey won 70% of the Hispanic vote despite Gomez being pro amnesty & a fellow Latino.  Now even if you think Gomez would not win in Massachusetts it is not unreasonable to think he would have done better than he did with Hispanics.  BO won 70% of Hispanic votes in Massachusetts in November so they all stuck with him in supporting Markey – & it is because of the most powerful electoral principle – namely the Death of Democracy principle that dominates the deterioration of a country once the citizenry realizes they can keep electing people who will take from the public treasury to support them.  Pat Buchanan asked – "Why should the half of America that pays no taxes but survives on federal benefits vote for a party that will cut taxes they do not pay but roll back benefits upon which they do depend?"

Now it is clear to everyone except the fourteen Republican senators who voted for the immigration bill that just supporting one bill or saying you are for immigration reform is not going to all of a sudden get Hispanics to vote for Republican candidates.  It didn't happen as a result of the 1986 Reagan amnesty bill.  Just look @ the below account from Ed Meese, U.S. Attorney General 1985-88 who sets the record straight regarding the 1986 bill:

"The 1986 act didn't turn illegal immigrants into citizens on the spot. It granted temporary resident status only to those who could prove they had resided continuously in America for five years. After 18 months, their status could be upgraded to permanent residency, and only after another five years could they become U.S. citizens.

"But advancement to citizenship was not automatic. Immigrants had to satisfy various requirements along the way. They had to pay application fees, learn to speak English, understand American civics, pass a medical exam and register for military selective service. Those with convictions for a felony or three misdemeanors were ineligible.

"Sound familiar? It's pretty much the same 'penalties and hurdles' set forth by the Gang of Eight. Today they call it a 'roadmap to citizenship.' Ronald Reagan called it 'amnesty.'

"The '86 reform bill also had supposedly 'rigorous' border security and immigration law enforcement provisions. So how did that pan out? On the day Reagan signed 'comprehensive' reform into law, only one thing changed: Millions of unlawful immigrants gained 'legal' status. The promised crackdowns on security and enforcement never happened. Only amnesty prevailed.

"Since the '86 amnesty, the number of illegal immigrants has quadrupled. That should teach Congress a very important lesson: Amnesty 'bends' the rule of law.  And bending the rule of law to reach a 'comprehensive' deal winds up provoking wholesale breaking of the law. Ultimately, it encourages millions more to risk entering the country illegally in the hope that one day they, too, might receive amnesty."

Conservatives like Steve Moore, Larry Kudlow, & Laura Ingraham understand a better solution to the immigration problem than enacting the senate bill is to put America on a path to economic growth through free market capitalism.  The problem with this is "economic growth" to these people is code for lower income taxes – i.e., Conservatives' mechanism for economic growth is to reduce income tax rates – both corporate & individual, thereby putting more money in the hands of entrepreneurs to invest in capital & people meaning new jobs.  Of course this will bring out the class warfare calls & revive the claims that Republicans are for the hated corporations & millionaires & billionaires.  BO masterfully used the slogan that Republicans were for "tax cuts for the wealthy" in the 2012 campaign & many people were surprised how well it stuck & it will stick again.

This is quite a box BO has put the country in – 1) If the senate immigration reform bill passes the House Hispanics will ensure Republicans never win another national election – by 2016 alone there will be approximately one million more Hispanics eligible to vote than voted in 2012.  2) If Republicans try to spur the economy through income tax cuts the class warfare warriors will come out in droves like before & the economy will not improve – there will be a bigger divide & the poor will get poorer & more government dependent while continuing to support Democrats like they have for generations.  Checkmate.

Not meaning to pile on but it gets worse.  As Democrats continue to control the presidency & Supreme Court older justices like Scalia, Thomas, & Kennedy retire they will be replaced by young statists like Kagan & Sotomayor who will ensure the unconstitutional actions of the Supreme Court continue until the country collapses of its own weight.

The Democrat lock grip on the presidency & subsequent control of the Supreme Court provides the fundamental transformation of America BO promised.

Realistically the best we can hope is that Republicans hold on to enough seats to control the House so that BO's plans (& beyond) are gummed up giving us time for something to happen that will wake people up & bring them to their senses.  Absent that we are gone in a slow burn that has all the potential to speed up.

Now I have documented over the years the steps that have to be taken to turn all of this around.  The apathy of the American people will not make this easy but it all starts by looking for & supporting people like the 32 Republicans listed below who voted against the senate immigration reform bill.

BO Is Constitutional - The Supremes' Decisions Are Not

"And that's why we enacted incentives that are beginning to give rise to a clean energy economy, that are starting to translate into real jobs making solar panels, making windmill blades, making cutting-edge batteries. In fact, almost $25 million of our investment went to a plant right here in Elyria that's helping produce the car batteries of the future."  BO speaking in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio on January 22, 2010 as part of his economic improvement tour to show America how much he was interested in creating jobs

One year into BO's first term he had concentrated on everything but improving the economy & his handlers had told him that he had to make an economic improvement tour to show how much he was interested in job creation.  I was especially interested in the above quote because my brother-in-law lives in Elyria, Ohio.  It also shows one of BO's real incentives – the others are universal single-payer healthcare & comprehensive immigration reform.  He is well on his way with the last two.

During a speech @ Georgetown University On Tuesday BO used a suit jacket & handkerchief as props to make his point that we have to fight climate change by curbing principally coal fired power plant emissions although other power plant emission curbs will also do.  Raising electric rates for consumers is the method of emission control BO has in mind & he is planning on the EPA doing the dirty work through increased regulations without participation by Congress (our representatives).

Now is any of this on your priority list with the livelihoods of tens of millions of Americans significantly reduced & many people in their 50s or older never being able to work again – not to mention all of the scandals circulating around the IRS & State & Justice Departments.

Now I don't offer much hope in what is currently happening to our country & it is not getting better - it is getting worse.  The two Supreme Court decisions on Wednesday didn't help – not the specific decisions themselves but the unconstitutional decision to take the cases in the first place – just like it was unconstitutional for the Supremes to have taken the ObamaCare case in 2012, they should not have accepted the homosexual marriage cases either.  The Founders never intended nine unelected judges to tell the rest of the citizenry what is up.

In the case of BO he is constitutional having won two elections & elections have consequences & we are paying for them & will continue to pay for years to come.  Click here to hear BO explain just one of the ways.

Government Abuses - Both Current & Forgotten

As a follow up to the last post where Mike Huckabee provided an excellent recital of reason after reason why he does not recognize his country anymore I present below the O'Reilly Factor memo from June 17 that answers its own question just by asking it – "Does the Obama administration really want to solve all these controversies?"

Of course the Benghazi murders are an unwanted distraction that is taking time from BO's real destructive agenda.  The feds snooping on reporters & every citizen & the selective political targeting scrutiny of the IRS on Tea Parties are all part of BO's modi operandi & we are just lucky that BO got caught because it gives us fair warning if we want to heed it & take appropriate action.  Too bad he did not get caught before the election – the IRS matter is BO's idea of acceptable voter suppression.  Now what do we do with it?

But these abuses of the IRS & Justice Department are just the ones in the current limelight.  It is the forgotten abuses that were foisted upon us that now seem part of our (new) normal make-up that are every bit as dangerous & that we should not accept – 1) there are 11.7 million Americans listed as unemployed, plus 2.3 million marginally attached to the labor force, plus 7.9 million employed part time for economic reasons; 2) the Federal Reserve has artificially manipulated interest rates to the detriment of every senior citizen in the country – the Fed is really the largest currency manipulator in the world – not China; 3) government advertisements on TV & radio encourage people to become dependent on government by applying for food stamps & any of the other 78 means tested government welfare programs that offer cash income support, food & nutrition assistance, housing assistance, healthcare support, or social services (this abuse extends to ambulance chasing lawyers advertising their services on TV & radio that adds to the easy-answer lottery winning mindset that @ least subconsciously replaces the wealth creating free enterprise tradition of America); 4) the continuing implementation of ObamaCare – it won't be long before the mandates-taxes-penalties start, the insurance exchanges will be in operation to some degree, & the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) starts searching for savings in Medicare & when they find them people will realize why Sarah Palin calls this board "Death Panels"; & 5) an untold number of millions of illegal immigrants are once again being pushed by the U.S. Senate to a path to citizenship which, if the Senate bill is enacted, will cripple the economy beyond repair while ensuring the election of political elites forever.

Now the American people are so divided, uninvolved, & apathetic that the above abuses, both current & forgotten, have so much momentum (mass times velocity in physics & politics) that they cannot be stopped.

These abuses & certainly more to come, or rather to be uncovered, certainly do not show a happy life for any of us except the elites in government.

The best example of the insult to the Americans who do care, but are outnumbered to the point they cannot do anything about it right now, is the part of Bill's memo below that refers to Congressman Jim Jordan's questioning of FBI Director Robert Mueller's knowledge of the FBI's investigation into the current IRS matter.  This is the most embarrassing exchange I have seen in a long time.  It is bad enough that someone @ Mueller's level in our government would be callous enough to appear for congressional testimony unprepared & uncaring & even worse that they are getting away with it.

O'Reilly Factor June 17, 2013 - Does the Obama administration really want to solve all these controversies?
"The Obama administration does not want to tell us what happened in Benghazi, how the IRS got so far out of control, and what exactly the feds are doing snooping around private communications. We are being stonewalled! Director of Intelligence James Clapper misled us when he denied that the NSA collects data on millions of Americans. Then FBI Director Robert Mueller was unable to name the lead investigator on the IRS investigation. Are you kidding me? If Mueller doesn't know specifics about the IRS investigation, it's because he doesn't want to know. Also, Attorney General Eric Holder doesn't know anything about snooping on reporters! This is an insult to the intelligence of all Americans and it is clear that the Obama administration is not going to aggressively investigate the controversies. Therefore, Congress must do it and there will have to be special prosecutors appointed in nearly all of the cases. By the time we know what really happened, President Obama will be finishing up his second term. Is this the way the United States government should be running? You make the call."

The Factor welcomed Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy
(R-SC), who has aggressively interrogated IRS officials about the agency's targeting of conservative organizations. "One place we ought to be looking," Gowdy said, "is the Obama-Biden reelection team. I can't prove to you that this goes to the White House, but I don't believe two rogue agents in Cincinnati concocted this scheme on their own. The Obama administration won't get to the bottom of this because they don't have to." Gowdy predicted that special prosecutors will eventually be named. "In our system oversight is supposed to be provided by Congress and the voters and the media. But with a couple of exceptions, the media is not providing oversight. We need special prosecutors, and one thing we should have done weeks ago is cut the funding to the IRS.  Hopefully our fellow citizens will be so disgusted that they demand criminal accountability for these actions."

BO Is The Reason Mike Huckabee Says - "I Don't Recognize My Country Anymore"

Click here to hear Mike Huckabee's excellent opening segment of his FNC program on June 8, 2013.  The first part of the video pertains to a high school student who tried to do the right thing & ran into complications before arriving @ a happy ending.  In the second part Governor Huckabee takes virtually every issue of the last nine months & provides example after example of why America has become a country he does not recognize anymore – & BO is the reason why.

NJ & VA Candidates In The Electoral Spotlight Need Tea Party Support

In this off-election year New Jersey & Virginia have the distinction of being the only two states to hold state wide elections – governors' races & the entire legislatures.  Due to the death earlier this month of incumbent Senator Frank Lautenberg NJ will also hold primaries & a special election to elect a senator to complete Lautenberg's term through 2014.

We have not gotten off to a good start in NJ.  Governor Christie selected NJ AG Jeff Chiesa to fill the senate vacancy until the October special election.  On his first day in Washington Chiesa (a self described conservative Republican) voted to reauthorize agricultural programs (subsidies) through 2018 so there was no difference in the vote this Republican cast & the vote Lautenberg would have cast.  The bill was 1,150 pages long which makes you wonder if he, or anyone else, read it before voting.

On a more personal note, a few days before the farm bill vote, my friend Leigh-Ann Bellew lost her primary bid for state senate losing to Joe Kyrillos 79% to 21%.  Leigh-Ann is as fine a candidate as you could ever hope to have represent you & her defeat shows the road we are going down @ least in NJ.  Kyrillos was the unsuccessful Republican U.S. senate candidate against incumbent Bob Menendez last November.

Two prominent Republicans are running for the senate seat in the August primary – Steve Lonegan & Somerset physician Alieta Eck.  Both have been subjects of postings on RTE in the past & would be excellent.  Democrat Newark Mayor Cory Booker leads Lonegan in the first poll 59% to 27%.  Lonegan is fearless but has lost two gubernatorial primaries in NJ.

If NJ, like CA, IL, NY, & the rest of the northeast, is a microcosm of America to come, people of substance throughout the country can look to present day France to see what is in store for us.  Socialist President Francois Hollande ran for office actually proposing a 75% top marginal income tax rate & got elected.  As Democrats notch more electoral victories & Republicans try to keep up by capitulating on issue after issue higher French-type taxes (both income & VAT) are inevitable.

We can either prepare for an un-peaceful end to this assault on our livelihoods or look for third party candidates who can reach the masses by explaining to them & convincing them that they really do have skin in the game in that their entire standard of existence is @ stake by following the welfare state road.

Now Virginia is in a much better position than NJ in that Ken Cuccinelli (Lonegan's friend) is running for governor with a good chance to win in that he has won elections in VA before although his last election for state senate in 2007 was a squeaker.  Ken was elected AG in 2009 & is running with E.W. Jackson for lieutenant governor.

Click here to hear E.W. Jackson give an inspirational speech whose principles are the bedrock of the Tea Party.  The long time subscriber who passed the url on to me said it makes her want to move to VA so she could vote for him.  The next best thing is to support Jackson, Cuccinelli, & Lonegan wherever you live.

America's War On Liberty

"There were times this past week when it seemed like the 19th-century Know-Nothing Party had returned to Washington.  President Obama insisted he knew nothing about major decisions in the State Department, or the Justice Department, or the Internal Revenue Service.  The heads of those agencies, in turn, insisted they knew nothing about major decisions by their subordinates. It was as if the government functioned by some hidden hand.  We cannot long protect liberty if our leaders continue to act like mere bystanders to the work of government."  George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley writing in the Washington Post on May 24, 2013

Now the news that the NSA & FBI have been conducting secret government operations in the war on terror gathering telephone, credit card, & internet data on virtually every American coupled with the points made by Professor Turley above brings the term "Nixonian" to another level.

The fact that this latest leaking of top secret information was obtained from a 29 year old contract worker, who had previously flunked out of community college, was not reassuring that any of the almost five million federal employees & contractors who hold this secret clearance can be trusted – i.e., there is a tremendous potential for abuse.  Makes you think that the Army private who leaked classified information to the WikiLeaks website was not an aberration doesn't it?

All of these people accepted a security clearance, much like I did over forty years ago, that makes it a crime to leak secret information – there are other ways to disclose operations involving secret information that goes against your conscience – but none as dramatic or immediate as the one used.

But the fact remains that the information is out & it provides another example that government programs can't stop growing even when they are out of control.  In this case the seeming innocuous named Patriot Act has started to reveal its expansion possibilities & of course each expansion takes more & more of our freedoms away.

Wisconsin Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner, principal author of the Patriot Act, was extremely concerned & dismayed last week to find the way that Section 215 of the USA Patriot Act had been used in fighting the war on terror.  Sensenbrenner - "The Patriot Act was a careful balancing of national security interests & constitutional rights.  While I feel we found an appropriate balance, I have always worried about potential abuses of the Act."

Sensenbrenner was so upset he wrote a letter to AG Eric Holder to complain that our constitutional rights might be in jeopardy.  He wrote a letter to whom? To raise concerns about what?  Oh please.

So many pundits, especially conservative ones, take the position that "we have to stay one step ahead of the terrorists who would like to murder us."  This approach is not fighting a war on terror or anything else bad – passively defending ourselves against Islamic fascists who would murder us is a better description.  America's current approach is to wage a war on liberty.

USA PATRIOT is an acronym that stands for Uniting (and) Strengthening America (by) Providing Appropriate Tools Required (to) Intercept (and) Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001.  This act describes defending, intercepting, or obstructing not fighting.  Fighting the war on terror means we are aggressively trying to kill all of them before they kill any of us & not just sending a drone strike here or there on occasion or leading from behind on one matter after another.  What does it tell us that we have to bring this up again after just engaging in two wars that we did not try to win?

So all of this boils down to a liberty & freedom versus safety & privacy issue.

Our forefathers did not come to America for safety or privacy – they came for freedom.  They were not afraid to fight for freedom – hence the Revolutionary War.

Nothing is sillier than someone walking around a drug store talking in a loud voice on their cell phone so that everyone aisles away can hear what they are having for dinner – these are some of the same people who complain that the government is violating their constitutional right to privacy re the above matters.

Of course students of the Constitution know there is no constitutional right to privacy.  The man who looked the hardest to find it, Supreme Court Associate Justice Harry Blackmun, wrote in his opinion in Roe v. Wade "The Constitution does not explicitly mention any right of privacy."

Ben Franklin summed this up – "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."  Not only do they not deserve liberty or safety they will actually have neither.  Dr. Franklin's quotation, slightly altered, is inscribed on a plaque in the stairwell of the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.  It is also important to note that this sentiment was much used in the Revolutionary period.

So the Founder's idea was not only to minimize an intrusive government but not to create one in the first place meaning that all of the current opinions about balancing national-security interests and constitutional rights is a false choice.  America is not a police state yet but electronic strip searches, pat downs & gropings, & the NSA building a one million square foot facility in Utah for secret security reasons keeps us on the police state road.

We have been brainwashed into a mindset to think we must hunt terrorists by presuming every innocent American is guilty until proven innocent & always these trials (like @ airport check ins) are @ our total inconvenience.  Many people don't fly unless an absolute necessity – thereby robbing them of another freedom.

Rather than being totally on the defensive where, as an example, the Boston Marathon bombers, who were on the Watch List but were not watched, could slip in & out of the country without notice or enough scrutiny to red flag them before their damage was done illustrates a realization this is ultimately a losing battle where the terrorists have to be right only once.

Contrary to BO's assertion that the war on terror is winding down we still hear of al Qaeda in Iraq, al Qaeda on the Arabian Peninsula, & many other terrorist groups, plots, & murders like the soldier in London in May.  I would hope that enough of us do not have to wait for another 9/11 attack (or February 26, 1993) to realize that metaphorically we are standing @ the top of a flight of stairs & because of our current defensive & politically correct positions we are teetering toward a very bad fall.

Can't we stand @ the top of this flight of stairs & know we will be hurt if we fall down the stairs so that we take the real appropriate action to not only protect the members (citizens) in the Club known as the United States of America but to "secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves & our Posterity?"

The Passing Of Leo Linbeck Jr.

FairTax national headquarters in Houston announced on Saturday the passing of Americans For Fair Taxation®'s Chairman and Co-founder Leo Edward Linbeck, Jr.  National's note included - "He poured his time, resources, energy and unwavering passion into advancing the FairTax."

The last e-mail I received from Mr. Linbeck demonstrated this passion for the FairTax which really was a reflection of his patriotism & love for America – "If one supports the principle that consumers should pay the FairTax with no exceptions or exclusions on the new goods and services they buy, then one should follow this principle wherever it leads them. The vendor does not pay the tax, the vendor collects the tax. To apply the FairTax in accordance with this principle, the vendor does not determine the applicability of the tax, they just follow the principle for collection. This results in governmental units who supply new goods and services to consumers (ex -cafeterias, trinkets, security, etc) to collect the tax.  Just follow the principle in establishing the application.  L2"

Holder Heads BO's List Of Evil

Last November's election confirmed that something is not right in America.  The real problem is that something is different this time - & that something is evil & a deliberate deception to overrun our country (although Sam Donaldson tells us that it is not our country any longer).  The recent scandals re the IRS, Benghazi, & First Amendment abuses highlight the tip of the iceberg – EPA discriminations, Verizon telephone account monitoring, & Susan Rice being appointed National Security Adviser just add to BO's poke in America's eye with a sharp stick.

BO prime delegation personifies evil in implementing & adding to his anti-American agenda since January 2009 -  including Secretary of HHS Kathleen Sibelius, CT Senator Richard Blumenthal, NY Governor Andrews Cuomo, former EPA administrator Lisa Jackson,  & of course Harry Reid & Nancy Pelosi.  These are people who can exchange ideas with BO & MO so that their anti-American policies are not only continued but embellished.  I distinguish these people from the group of useful idiots who don't add many original destructive ideas themselves but carry out orders.  Put Hillary & Bill in either category as you choose but MO will have the last laugh over Hillary in 2016.

Now @ the very top of BO's list of evil people is Attorney General Eric Holder.   Holder cannot even raise his forearm to a 45 degree angle while being sworn in – see above pathetic photo.  Other than MO no one more than Holder shares BO's personal philosophy of destroying America.  In summary Holder wants to disarm Americans, arm enemy Mexican gangs, audit patriot Americans, & stifle reporters First Amendment rights.  Holder is a cabinet officer who strongly supports citizen restrictive gun control while he is in charge of thousands of armed federal agents, many of them paramilitary agents with machine guns.

As is anyone who rises to the position of AG Eric Holder is a man of accomplishment.  Holder was an associate judge of the D.C. Superior Court under President Reagan, a U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., deputy attorney general under Bill Clinton, & was senior legal advisor to BO's presidential campaign, & is now the first black Attorney General.

But Holder's list of evil starts with his strong support of restrictive gun control (Holder co-signed an amicus brief in the District of Columbia v. Heller hand gun ban case supporting DC's ban on handguns while arguing that the Second Amendment is a "collective" right, not an individual one) while simultaneously playing key roles in the government's use of force against its own citizens at Ruby Ridge Idaho and Waco Texas – both in the 1990s.  Holder also worked on the Clinton undercover operation PATCON (Patriot Conspiracy) which has ties to bombers McVeigh & Nichols in Oklahoma City much like he more recently did with firearms in the Fast & Furious project – a botched federal gun running sting operation that allowed weapons to reach Mexican drug gangs that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Mexicans & @ least one U.S Border Agent.  During Fast & Furious Holder became the only cabinet member in U.S. history to be held in contempt of Congress.  Both Waco and Ruby Ridge are now known to have been PATCON inspired Department of Justice plots.  The idea of all of these plots was that they would end with the DOJ crushing the civilian opposition.  Do your own research to determine how much Holder was involved in each.

In the final hours of the Clinton administration Holder was the key person responsible for the pardon of fugitive billionaire Marc Rich, who renounced his U.S. citizenship and moved to Switzerland to avoid prosecution for racketeering, wire fraud, 51 counts of tax fraud, evading $48 million in taxes, and engaging in illegal trades with Iran in violation of the U.S. embargo following the 1979-80 hostage crisis.  Holder was willing to do this in exchange for Rich's contributions of millions in cash in exchange for the favor.

Holder played a key role in sending federal agents to kidnap six year old Elian Gonzalez @ gunpoint from the protective home of his family so that the Cuban youth would be deported & sent back to Castro from whom he had escaped.

Holder dropped the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party from election day 2008 @ a Philadelphia polling place where Party members were recorded on YouTube in paramilitary garb with one wielding a nightstick & obviously intimidating voters.  No reason for the dropping of this case has ever been given.

Earlier this week Oklahoma Congressman Jim Bridenstine presented his own list of abuses on the House floor & concluded "The president's dishonesty, incompetence, vengefulness and lack of moral compass lead many to suggest that he is not fit to lead.  The only problem is that his vice president is equally unfit and even more embarrassing."

Professor Williams' Column Delivers Clear Death Of Democracy Message

Below is Professor Williams' column of May 30 entitled In A Way, We Deserve The IRS We've Got

In the column Professor Williams explains that the IRS merely follows orders from Congress by taking the earnings of one American, heavy handedly if necessary, so Congress can create a benefit for some other American.  Now this should not be surprising since our elected representatives want to be reelected & 50% of Americans do not pay any income tax & @ least another 20% don't pay enough income tax that any IRS scandal or tactic is of any concern to them.  With this realization you can see how we got the current IRS abuse of power the other 30% of us are outraged about.

Former NY Congressman Barber Conable taught me many decades ago that congressmen will do what the majority of their constituents want, whether you think so or not – it's common sense or they would not get reelected.  Many readers of this blog tell me we need term limits to correct the ills of the nation.  Those who feel that way have to face we have the Congress the majority of the electorate wants & the Congress wants this IRS no matter how much they scream they don't because they need the money to give away.

IRS employees belong to a union whose PAC gave 95% of its political contributions to Democrats in 2012.  Every donation traceable to the Cincinnati IRS office, where the IRS scandal started, went to BO or Ohio senate incumbent Sherrod Brown.  Source – Peggy Noonan.  When would these people ever target Democrats for investigation?  It's as bad as Holder investigating himself.

All of this follows the principles of Death Of Democracy & we are just about past the point where the majority of voters want the apathy to dependence stage.  Many of us still find it hard to believe that there are people who long for the dependence back into bondage stage – until they live in this tyranny & realize the freedom & liberty they took for granted & threw away.

Walter E. Williams Column: In a Way, We Deserve the IRS We've Got - May 30, 2013

Individually, Americans do not deserve to be subservient to such a fear-mongering, intimidating and powerful agency as the Internal Revenue Service; but collectively, we do. Let's look at it.

Since the 1791 ratification of our Constitution, until well into the 1920s, federal spending as a percentage of gross domestic product never exceeded 5 percent, except during war. Today federal spending is 25 percent of our GDP. State and local government spending is about 15 percent of the GDP. That means government spends more than 40 cents of each dollar we earn. If we add government's regulatory burden, which is simply a disguised form of taxation, the government take is more than 50 percent of what we produce.

In order to squeeze out of us half of what we produce, a government tax collection agency must be ruthless and able to put the fear of God into its citizens. The IRS has mastered that task. Congress has given it powers that would be deemed criminal if used by others. For example, the Constitution's Fifth Amendment protects Americans against self-incrimination and being forced to bear witness against oneself. That's precisely what one does when he is compelled to sign his income tax form. However, a Fifth Amendment argument can't be used as a defense in a court of law. The IRS will counter that you voluntarily provided the information on your tax return.

If you're in debt to Bank of America, Wells Fargo or any other private creditor, in order for it to garnish your wages as a means of collecting debt, it must first get a court order. By contrast, the IRS can garnish your wages without having to get a court order first. If your employer doesn't obey the IRS and send it a portion of your wages, he will be held accountable for what you owe. At the minimum, some IRS collection procedures violate one of the basic tenets of the rule of law -- namely, the law of the land applies equally to individuals (and other private entities) and the government (and its officials and agents).

Our Founding Fathers feared the emergence of an agency such as the IRS and its potential for abuse. That's why they gave us Article 1, Section 9 of the Constitution, which reads: "No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken." A capitation is a tax placed directly on an individual. That's what an income tax is. The founders feared the abuse and the government power inherent in a direct tax. In Section 8 of Article 1, they added, "But all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States." These protections the founders gave us were undone by the Progressive era's 16th Amendment, which reads, "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

If federal spending were only 5 percent of our GDP ($750 billion) -- instead of 25 percent ($3.8 trillion) -- there would be no need for today's oppressive and complicated tax system. You might ask, "How could we be a great nation without all the government spending?" When our Constitution was ratified in 1791, we were a weak and poor nation. One hundred forty years later, with federal spending a mere pittance of what it is today, we became the world's richest and most powerful nation. No small part of this miracle was limited and unintrusive government.

The bottom line is that members of Congress need such a ruthless tax collection agency as the IRS because of the charge we Americans have given them. We want what the IRS does -- namely, to take the earnings of one American so Congress can create a benefit for some other American. Don't get angry with IRS agents. They are just following orders.
