About Me

In writing the "About Me" portion of this blog I thought about the purpose of the blog - namely, preventing the growth of Socialism & stopping the Death Of Democracy in the American Republic & returning her to the "liberty to abundance" stage of our history. One word descriptions of people's philosophies or purposes are quite often inadequate. I feel that I am "liberal" meaning that I am broad minded, independent, generous, hospitable, & magnanimous. Under these terms "liberal" is a perfectly good word that has been corrupted over the years to mean the person is a left-winger or as Mark Levin more accurately wrote in his book "Liberty & Tyranny" a "statist" - someone looking for government or state control of society. I am certainly not that & have dedicated the blog to fighting this. I believe that I find what I am when I consider whether or not I am a "conservative" & specifically when I ask what is it that I am trying to conserve? It is the libertarian principles that America was founded upon & originally followed. That is the Return To Excellence that this blog is named for & is all about.

SC Senator Tim Scott Explains Needed Mindset Changes

"What can I do that no one else will if I don't?" – part of entrepreneur Peter Thiel's challenge to ISI Collegiate Network students @ the ninth annual Dinner for Western Civilization.  Mr. Thiel went on to identify stifling "political correctness" as the number one problem in America today that has turned so many of our fellow citizens into pessimistic conformists instead of courageous pioneers saying "We live in a world in which courage is in far shorter supply than genius."

Mr. Thiel's above challenges provide an inspirational start to 2015 not just for the ISI students but for all of us.  Someone who is up to any challenge is SC Senator Tim Scott.

As many of you know two years ago SC Governor Nikki Haley appointed then Congressman Tim Scott to complete Jim DeMint's term as senator when Jim left politics to head the Heritage Foundation.

Last November Tim Scott made history when the voters of SC elected him the first Black senator from the South since the passage of the 17th Amendment.  As documented several times on RTE Tim's voting record in both the House & Senate has been excellent.

Click here to watch an MSNBC host ask about the senator's "F" grading by the NAACP on their annual scorecard.   Senator Scott responds by pointing out that success is obtained when people get a good education & have a strong work ethic & that the brilliance of the American economy happens through business ownership & entrepreneurial spirit – all changes in mindset that are most needed.

  2. With BO receiving almost unanimous support from the Black community and their pride for having an African American President, I can't help but wonder WHY did they chose him to support for the highest office in the land? Why not a man like Tim Scott with his life story, his ideals, his understanding of the Founding Principles? Why is BO the Black politician to admire and support, a man that believes in Alinsky and is against free market capitalism, personal responsibility, and the rule of law. Oh, I get the answer to that question - it leaves them off the hook and able to blame someone else. But I just still wonder Why?
