About Me

In writing the "About Me" portion of this blog I thought about the purpose of the blog - namely, preventing the growth of Socialism & stopping the Death Of Democracy in the American Republic & returning her to the "liberty to abundance" stage of our history. One word descriptions of people's philosophies or purposes are quite often inadequate. I feel that I am "liberal" meaning that I am broad minded, independent, generous, hospitable, & magnanimous. Under these terms "liberal" is a perfectly good word that has been corrupted over the years to mean the person is a left-winger or as Mark Levin more accurately wrote in his book "Liberty & Tyranny" a "statist" - someone looking for government or state control of society. I am certainly not that & have dedicated the blog to fighting this. I believe that I find what I am when I consider whether or not I am a "conservative" & specifically when I ask what is it that I am trying to conserve? It is the libertarian principles that America was founded upon & originally followed. That is the Return To Excellence that this blog is named for & is all about.

Carly Overwhelms Chris Matthews

Several people in this readership have gone out of their way to tell me that presidential candidate Carly Fiorina has positively impressed them – & that was even before the undercard Republican primary debate last Thursday in which 82% of a FNC flash telephone survey conducted after that debate proclaimed she had won it.

Click here to learn how Carly overwhelmed MSNBC's Chris Matthews in an interview shortly after the debate in which Matthews questioned Carly about calling Hillary a liar during the debate.  The last few seconds of the video show how compelling & in command of the facts Carly is as testified by Matthews.

  1. Doug – thanks for the video. It is an excellent example of how knowledgeable Carly is on key issues and how tough she can be with the elite media. Note how quickly she responds and with specifics and facts to difficult questions. I wish she would have asked Chris if he learned what the differences between Socialists and Democrats are.

One more point: Carly clearly proved Hil is a Liar regarding Benghazi. When one views the facts, this is undeniable. What is astounding is that so many still support her. Perhaps her hard core elite supporters just feel she is their best choice to further advance the Left agenda in the US and world; and so they put up with scandal after scandal. It will be interesting how the elite Dems react when they continue to scan what appears to be an impressive and competent GOP field of prospective presidential nominees.

For the record I was for Carly as my first choice as president since this Spring. We need a non politician to fix the huge economic and foreign policy messes. Very few politicians understand economics and how private entrepreneurial activity fuel new products, industries, employment. To her credit, in addition to her experience as CEO of a high tech company HP (much of the time during the dot com bust), where she developed deep business expertise, she has mastered foreign policy issues better than most politicians.

  2. Carly is right, People are tired of sanitized language, they want common sense and straight talk. She just ran rings around Chris Matthews too, unbelievable that he admitted "I see why you stood out tonight" - but I'm sure he meant it as a snipe. My husband has been impressed by her for several months now. And that's saying something. There are not too many people who impress him.

God help us if Trump gets in. He is NOT a conservative, he is NOT a serious choice or serious candidate - merely an attention seeker.

  3. Just catching up on my emails. She was terrific. Like Trump I can see where her support and rise in the polls is coming from. Many people are tired of wimpy, lawyerese language. Say what you mean and back it up. Whether people think you are right or wrong they will be attracted to a candidate that comes across as a plain talker.
