Maybe he can recall the way Reagan AKA the Great Communicator frustrated the Democrats in a similar fashion.

What DC is really complaining about is -- there are no political geniuses on his team. Unlike the Democrats, the Republicans do not know what they stand for - their platform is seriously fractured. This became abundantly clear, during the recent debates, when the majority of Republicans conceded their keystone position on Pro-Life.
SSnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3776665703590564248.post-16800559821766635882014-12-02T18:15:10.291-05:002014-12-02T18:15:10.291-05:00If I thought we should surrender I would not be wr...If I thought we should surrender I would not be writing this blog. We have to face the reality that the country is hanging by a thread just about ready to go over the statist cliff. Elections have consequences & if the people do not learn these consequences @ some substantial cost John Galt will never appear. Having the Supreme Court decide the matter is not constitutional in & of itself - neither was the ObamaCare case as I wrote & explained many times. Step one is not to secure the border, whatever that means, but to decide if we want these illegals in the country to begin with. After not enforcing the immigration laws for “the last 40 years” as you say, what makes you think 40 years from now we would not be talking about “the last 80 years”. Getting Boehner & McConnell to work with freedom being the supreme principle of their work is the best path – that will be hard enough for them to do.

I know you are upset DC but we can get in deeper with more government shutdowns & setting additional dangerous legal precedents or passing comprehensive immigration plans that BO selectively follows to our further detriment.

I think SS summed the post up very well when he responded below.
RTEnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3776665703590564248.post-50035316861256476122014-12-02T17:48:35.853-05:002014-12-02T17:48:35.853-05:00Doug:

In short that would make Obama and all those that follow him into office dictators.

We have three branches of government. Obama has clearly overstepped his bounds (something those on the left continually do). If Boehner and McConnell don' t have the brains and guts to take him on, they should call up Monica Lewinsky and inquire if her "presidential knee-pads" are for sale.

The Republicans have no choice, they need to take Obama to court and clearly make their case about the unconstitutional action he has taken. And I mean clearly, Republicans in court are generally as incompetent as they are when trying to do public relations.

Another angle that needs to be noted; the Republicans may not be too upset about this power grab. The reason?
Cheap labor? Partially but not the real reason.

Increased power when they are in possession of the White House? Partially as well. You notice these clowns talk a good game but they love power (for the most part) as much as the fellows on the other side.

The real reason? Social Security and Medicare. Both sides know they are running a Ponzi scheme. Rick Perry was the only presidential contender who had the guts to point that out during the last election cycle.

Our esteemed "leaders" in DC know this and are desperate to figure out how to raise revenue for both bankrupt programs without raising the FICA tax. (BTW, another big plus for The FairTax that isn't nearly mentioned enough). They want to make sure they can keep the scam going until they get out of Dodge (retire) before it collapses. Then they can go on Talk Shows and explain how this new Congress and President weren't statesman like themselves ("They didn't put together a comprehensive package like we did, Bob") and "they" let it collapse.

That is why it is our job to let the American public know what the game really is. Call them out on it, call out Obama, Congress and the courts.

Just as a full disclosure note; I do believe we need immigration reform. There is no way you get rid of the illegals that are here in any meaningful numbers. But NO REFORM, no deals should be made until the borders are controlled. It wouldn't be a bad idea to also remind the American people that Congress, the President and the courts did not do their job over the last 40 years in controlling those borders. Otherwise any attempts at immigration reform are a joke.
DCnoreply@blogger.com
