About Me

In writing the "About Me" portion of this blog I thought about the purpose of the blog - namely, preventing the growth of Socialism & stopping the Death Of Democracy in the American Republic & returning her to the "liberty to abundance" stage of our history. One word descriptions of people's philosophies or purposes are quite often inadequate. I feel that I am "liberal" meaning that I am broad minded, independent, generous, hospitable, & magnanimous. Under these terms "liberal" is a perfectly good word that has been corrupted over the years to mean the person is a left-winger or as Mark Levin more accurately wrote in his book "Liberty & Tyranny" a "statist" - someone looking for government or state control of society. I am certainly not that & have dedicated the blog to fighting this. I believe that I find what I am when I consider whether or not I am a "conservative" & specifically when I ask what is it that I am trying to conserve? It is the libertarian principles that America was founded upon & originally followed. That is the Return To Excellence that this blog is named for & is all about.

The Way Forward - Presidential Debate Questions Need To Be Answered & Understood

Please direct your attention to the post right before the first 2020 presidential debate last September entitled Debate Questions For The American Citizenry   This post included fourteen questions, the correct answers to which are very important in preserving our liberty & warding off the socialistic tendencies the country is moving toward.

Of course nothing resembling these debate questions was asked by the moderator.  In fact it is hard to imagine either Biden or Trump answering them coherently.

But focusing on the title of the above post shows the debate questions were really meant for the American citizenry, not two politicians.

The posts on RTE in the new year will concentrate on the answers to these debate questions as well as election analyses that show the best way forward to preserve our liberty for those who cherish the founding principles of limited government, personal responsibility, & free enterprise.  Bellyaching over the 2020 presidential election result is not that way forward whether or not the apparent Biden victory withstands the expected challenge on January 6 when the electoral votes are counted by Mike Pence in a joint session of Congress per the Constitution.

Socialism has taken hold in America with supporters of Bernie Sanders & AOC totalling 35% to 40% of voters in the Democrat Party.  Bernie has such a following that he almost won the Democrat nomination in both 2016 & 2020.  Bernie wants this type of representation in the Biden administration personnel & plans to put pressure on Biden to bring this about.

It will be much more productive to convince Democrat voters not inclined toward socialism of the dangerous path we are travelling - a path that has never turned out well for any country that has tried it.

In no particular order, in between other topics, I plan to post my answers to the subject debate questions.  I ask concerned members of the readership to send me any points they would like to see included in my answers to the debate questions.  Better yet, answer the questions yourselves & send them in.  Don't rely on me - which is the point of this post.

It is up to those of us who know better to turn the socialist momentum (mass times velocity in physics & politics) around.

It is not an easy task we have ahead of us.  We have lost much of free enterprise in America to the statists who mistakenly prefer a socialist republic.  If we don't take steps as described above, only Joe Biden stands in the way of a fundamental transformation of America & a tyrannical government that has been in previews in 2020 under the pretense of flattening the pandemic bell curve.  Our return to excellence, if ever, starts with understanding the answers to the subject debate questions that were never even thought of by the moderator, the candidates, or the audience even to this day.

  1. Looking forward, sounds like enough senators will stand against the election and hopefully Pence pulls the switch and Trump is still the president.

  2. Doug - First Happy New Year to Carol and yourself.

As always, your commentary is on the money. I couldn't agree more with one possible exception (see below).

The GOP and those looking to turn things around would be much more productive if they did not waste their time and energy trying to keep Trump in the White House.

This can be a golden opportunity for the Republicans and those who believe in true reform. But the old guard has got to step aside. Batting .250 hitters in the clean-up spot wins you nothing. High time the Republicans realize that.

One point you made I am not clear about, "only Joe Biden stands in the way of a fundamental transformation". Are you saying that you think Joe Biden is the only thing keeping the radicals from taking control? I doubt that is your point, but it can be read that way.

Joe Biden is nothing more than a dumb human being who, along with his family has been running an extortion racket for decades . As is the case of many politicians he will go whichever way the wind is blowing. He stands in the way of nothing, the transformation has already happened. He is not a centrist (even though the media loves to give him that moniker, hoping to make him more palatable) and leans left in ever increasing strides and will easily go far left.

He will be propped up while his underlings try and grab more power. The only way they will pull the 25th Amendment on him is if he becomes too much the leering, crazy grandfather that the media is starting to make note of. Then they can "retire" him with accolades that he would have made a terrific President, if only the dementia had not caught up with him, a "tragic, sad tale" worthy of Greek mythology. Of course you and I know that is total nonsense, but politics are many times made up of asinine myths, see Kennedy's "Camelot" and the "best and the brightest" scams hoisted on the public.

One question I have for you is this: What do you believe are the 3 most vital issues / reforms needed in the US to turn this ship around?

    1. I made the Biden comment to emphasize that we really have nothing standing between us & the fundamental transformation - I actually know people who voted for Trump in 2016 who think Biden will hold the line & voted for him.  Biden is all you have & he is nothing.  I agree with your comments re Biden's record.

The most vital reform that must be made is with the citizenry themselves - which is the point of the post.  Their elementary school education re American history is terrible.  They  are taught to hate America.  The media shows the power there is to tell the news to poorly educated people who don't even think of any of the 14 questions I reference let alone the answers to these questions.  Just about all of the problems facing the country stem from these two points,
poor education & the media telling the poorly educated people what the news is.

  3. Doug - I am glad you still have some optimism. I don't. I believe we (the conservative, small government types) have already lost. Regardless of what happens in Georgia tomorrow.

I believe the election was not fair. However I believe nothing will ever come of it, not unlike what I think will happen with the Muller investigations: nothing.

The swamp likes the swamp and will do anything to keep it alive and well. Elections will always be rigged from now on. The democrats/socialists will always win elections. Our freedoms and rights will slowly fade away.

I am even taking my flag down from the front of the house. Just put it up on flag day and the 4th of July instead of leaving it up 24/7. (I know that is not according to flag protocol but...)

I am nearing retirement with our daughter taking over my business. I now wonder what will happen with my savings and investments. Will they hold their values or will they go down the tubes as well? I don't have much hope for the future,

    1. Wow.  That is a heavy message.  It is not that I am so optimistic but in writing a blog that is read by thousands of people each month I @ least  have the illusion I am doing something positive for America.  I recommend that you find a way to feel more positive even with all the evidence seemingly pointing against us.  Without Carter we would never have had Reagan so I hold to a short stop over with Biden will bring us much better prospects in the future.

  4. Hi Doug

Regarding ‘correct answers to which are very important in preserving our liberty & warding off the socialistic tendencies the country is moving toward’:

I am among the 40% that seriously question integrity of the Nov 3 election. And now we have a Dems full sweep, ripe for advancing Socialism.

How did we get here? Many factors but 3 stand out. Since the 1960’s the most Left Dems persisted in passionate power grab of (1) media, (2) academia - colleges and public schools, (3) courts - at all levels.

By 2021, they succeeded beyond most expectations.

The Supreme Court was most destructive for validating POTUS election despite plain site fraud. Every legal voter had standing. The SC cowards said no to Texas standing via 7-2 decision.

While many GOP supporters were diligently learning and developing private innovative job skills and high salaries, the Left were taking control of the big 3 above.

Now we have a day of reckoning.

    What to do?

Private entrepreneurs should step it up to create more alternate media. Parler can soon become the go-to social media as they do not censor. Investors should further support Parler, AON, NewsMax.

Private charity institutions and investors should fund the brightest minority students to attend the best of private schools - and further invest in these schools. After a 1-2 decades both college students and professors will start restoring freedom of thought.

More bright Constitution loving conservative minds should pursue Law careers focusing on becoming Court judges and prosecutors.

This will take decades but we must start now.

But there is more we can today:

Those of us in private industry, especially managers:
Champion diverse and creative ideas to create, improve new and existing products.

    Those on Wall Street:
Continue championing record setting innovation that will keep the US #1 in global financial markets

Those in Silicon Valley and Big Tech
Continue the rapid innovation in AI, BlockChain, and accelerated networks and hardware to continue US world leading industries.
Kamala Harris, close to Silicon Valley, may then be wise enough to keep hands off industries driving economic growth & Treasury revenue. The sooner she replaces Biden the better. Right from the start I believe she will be the real President with Biden ceremonial.
