About Me

In writing the "About Me" portion of this blog I thought about the purpose of the blog - namely, preventing the growth of Socialism & stopping the Death Of Democracy in the American Republic & returning her to the "liberty to abundance" stage of our history. One word descriptions of people's philosophies or purposes are quite often inadequate. I feel that I am "liberal" meaning that I am broad minded, independent, generous, hospitable, & magnanimous. Under these terms "liberal" is a perfectly good word that has been corrupted over the years to mean the person is a left-winger or as Mark Levin more accurately wrote in his book "Liberty & Tyranny" a "statist" - someone looking for government or state control of society. I am certainly not that & have dedicated the blog to fighting this. I believe that I find what I am when I consider whether or not I am a "conservative" & specifically when I ask what is it that I am trying to conserve? It is the libertarian principles that America was founded upon & originally followed. That is the Return To Excellence that this blog is named for & is all about.

Memorial Day Tribute From Hillsdale College

For those who enjoy the annual Memorial Day TV celebration hosted by Gary Sinese & Joe Mantegna click here for a preview presented by Hillsdale College.

The video features remarks by President Reagan & is set to the Hillsdale College choir singing "Mansions of the Lord" which was also sung @ President Reagan's funeral.

The Mansions of the Lord
# To fallen soldiers let us sing
Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing
Our broken brothers let us bring
To the mansions of the Lord
#No more bleeding, no more fight
No prayers pleading through the night
Just divine embrace, eternal light
In the mansions of the lord
#Where no mothers cry
And no children weep
We shall stand and guard through the angels sleep
While through the ages safely keep
The mansions of the lord

  4. Just read a Hillsdale College publication that said on Jan 18, 2020 The 1776 Report was issued by the Trump Administration. The report called for the retun to the unifying principles of The Declaration of Independence and calls for a civics education that fosters a reverence for these principles.

On January 20, 2021 in one of President Biden's first executive orders he abolished the Commission.

Can you even understand that Thinking?

Then you read this post and feel so sad for all that we are losing that so many sacrificed their lives that our nation may have.
