About Me

In writing the "About Me" portion of this blog I thought about the purpose of the blog - namely, preventing the growth of Socialism & stopping the Death Of Democracy in the American Republic & returning her to the "liberty to abundance" stage of our history. One word descriptions of people's philosophies or purposes are quite often inadequate. I feel that I am "liberal" meaning that I am broad minded, independent, generous, hospitable, & magnanimous. Under these terms "liberal" is a perfectly good word that has been corrupted over the years to mean the person is a left-winger or as Mark Levin more accurately wrote in his book "Liberty & Tyranny" a "statist" - someone looking for government or state control of society. I am certainly not that & have dedicated the blog to fighting this. I believe that I find what I am when I consider whether or not I am a "conservative" & specifically when I ask what is it that I am trying to conserve? It is the libertarian principles that America was founded upon & originally followed. That is the Return To Excellence that this blog is named for & is all about.

BO Does Have A Record To Run On

Below are two responses to the recent postings re Eric Klingemann – the marvelous Texas congressional candidate profiled earlier.

Response #1 humorously invites Eric to move to NJ.  The more important point is for all of us to find candidates like Eric Klingemann & go to the mat for them.  I have supported candidates all across the country rather than poor or mediocre local candidates who have been in office for decades just for their own benefit.  For instance, I contributed to Congressman John Linder's campaign on several occasions rather than help my local candidate who is no help.

Response #2 lets us know that Rush Limbaugh says BO has no record to run on.  Rush is mistaken – BO has put in place the exact record he wants – one of government dependence.  Just check out the posting from earlier this week entitled What The Election Is All About.  For instance, who do you think someone who has exhausted 99 weeks of unemployment benefits & now has moved to disability benefits – a program guaranteed by the government for life with Medicare benefits after just two years – is going to vote for?  It is important for all of us to realize this election is not about the pros & cons of a traditional guns & butter record of an incumbent president – it is about an entirely different mindset for our country – one that most of us never thought possible or even more importantly never thought about @ all as we mindlessly took our heritage for granted.  If you missed the above posting I suggest checking it out  – & then doing everything you can to undo our undoing that is staring us squarely in the face.

I wrote to Eric Klingemann last night. I invited him to move to NJ.

 ---Response #2---

Hi Doug - I was so impressed with Eric Klingemann's for US Congress credentials that I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your story Why We Need Our Own Get Out The Vote Campaign.  As you know, I am an admirer of men who make their money in business then go into politics. Several come to mind as I write this email: The Bushes, Ron Paul, & yes Mitt Romney. These men are winners and winners find a way to win. I will be watching to see it Eric Klingemann can win the Texas primary. I also wanted to say, I found an ally to agree with my November landslide prediction for the Republican Party. Rush Limbaugh is reporting that Obama, after three years, has no record to run on. I agree with Rush, until Obama can deliver more than empty promises I will hold fast to my prediction.
